"Water is the driving force of all nature" Leanardo da Vinci
Goward Springs A and E supply fresh water to this little creek year-round. It flows high and fast during the rainy seasons and becomes mucky during the dry ones. Small fry can be found where the two springs merge. Bushes and trees flourish alongside the creek. Birds enjoy the food and shelter that the water and trees provide while deer and other critters eat the greens. Where there is water there is life!
For many local geocachers, this will be a very familiar area as there have been multiple CITOs held here over several years to remove invasive species, add leaf mulch, build trails, and slowly reintroduce native species. Please enjoy this eco-restoration of close to 200 native plantings, while staying on the chip trails.
The cache is beside the alder at the NE corner of the small salal planting. No need to leave the trail or go into the garden to access it. Please stay on the trails while walking in to avoid stepping on the native plants.
