Sir Henry Bolte was the 38th Premier of Victoria.
To date he is the longest-serving Victorian premier, having been in office for over 17 consecutive years.
Born in 1908, Sir Henry spent the first 24 years of his life in Skipton, before moving to a farm near Meredith, where he lived with his wife Edith (Jill) until he died in 1990.
He entered Parliament in 1947, was elected Premier in 1955, and won 5 more State elections until he retired in 1972.
