Join us for some friendly conversations and sharing of Geocaching experiences. This is a great opportunity to meet area Geocachers.
If you are not already caching, this is the time to learn more about this game we love. There should be a mixture of novice and experienced cachers to visit with.
Please follow any local/state mandates that might be in place at the time of the event.
WHAT: Tri-State Area Meet, Greet and Eat - 14
WHEN: Saturday February 25
TIME: 11 am to 1 p.m.
WHERE: Cajun Jack's
1336 US Hwy 20 W, Elizabeth, IL 61028
Cajun Jack's is right on HWY 20. You can't miss it. There is a Giant Shark hanging out front.
I have the Banquet Room reserved. It is large and comfortable with interesting stuff all over. I took some pictures and will post them.
Food is available. Each cacher is responsible for their own meals. You are not required to eat. They have a wide variety of items on the menu. which can be seen on their Facebook page.
Please make a "will attend" log so we can get a head count for the restaurant. After attending make sure you log an "attended log" to get your smiley.
Again, everyone is welcome to come and visit with other cachers to put some faces to names we see in the logs.
If the weather cooperates, there should be plenty of time to hunt some of the Galena area caches before and after the event. There are now over 150 active Galena area caches. Most Galena area caches are Winter Friendly. There are Elizabeth caches too. The area between towns also has a lot of caches.
As usual, I plan on placing at least one new cache to be published on the 25th for those who like to get FTFs. Not sure what I will come up with this year. Maybe another set of Adventure Lab Caches and Bonus?
There will be a Log In Table at the entrance to the Banquet Room.
Should be Door Prizes! I have some items to give away and will make more. Anyone else is welcome to bring some too.
Please watch the logs for more information as it develops.
Hope to see you there.
