FLY ON THE WALL

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to chat with a famous writer DURING her or his struggles to transform ideas into words?  Imagine plopping yourself down in the study of Ralph Waldo Emerson’s Bush in Concord!  Or walking a stone wall in Rockingham County at Robert Frost’s Homestead, where he lived and wrote from 1900 to 1911.  And wouldn’t it have been thrilling to amble through the pointed firs with Sarah Orne Jewett in Berwick, where she spent her early years in a home her grandparents built and where she returned often even after she’d become a famous writer and moved to Boston with her partner.  How wonderful would it be to play with a famous author like Katherine Anne Porter, maybe at her childhood home in Kyle, Texas!  Or to sit with Frederick Douglass at Cedar Hill and learn more about the abolitionist movement, the end of slavery, and, perhaps, his marriage to Helen Pitts!  And of course, given my love of Faulkner, I’d love to tour Rowan Oak, especially with a dear friend familiar with much of his Yoknapatawpha County—the stories he could tell beyond the ones he gave us within his published works!

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
