Geocache Description:

Viewpoint of Haifa and the Haifa Bay area, on a clear day its possible to see Mt. Hermon.

Acacia tree is native to Australia. It grows as a small, dense, spreading tree with a short trunk and a weeping habit. It has a beautiful blooming of yellow flowers that appear in late winter and early spring.

Acacia tree has become an invasive species outside its natural range around the world, it causes a lot of damage to the areas it invades by taking over the natural habitat of local vegetation.

In Isreal it has proliferated at an uncontrollable rate which means it has become illegal to plant it, breed it, transport it, or bring it into the wild. KKL invests a lot of effort, cuts down and uproots thousands of Acacia trees every year, but the results are still far from satisfactory.
