Welcome to Ted's Daily Walk near his home village of Claypole. Ted is a lovable cockapoo belonging to my son and daughter-in-law, who you may just see whilst on this short trail. It is suggested that you park your car roadside in the village of Claypole, then walk to the start of this trail which is the other side of the main London to Edinburgh railway line, just past a very busy level crossing.
PLEASE NOTE: The main railway line is extremely busy, and often the barriers at the level crossings stay down for a few minutes whilst trains pass by. Take great care here. The trail does not cross the railway line, but to get to the start point from the village of Claypole you do need to cross the line.
I recommend walking, as it is not possible to drive along the two track sections of the walk. The path between the last two caches is very narrow and sometimes muddy, so not really recommended for cycling. Also, parking is difficult along the country lanes as they are not very wide in places, hence the suggestion to park in Claypole then set off on-foot.
The trail is about 1.5 miles long, along roads and tracks, and is circular, finishing not far from the start.
