Fox Hill Tower-War Memorial Tower. The dedication of the tower took place on a beautiful Saturday, August 5,1939. Dedicated to the Veterans of all wars from the town of Vernon, and with the magnificent promenade cost approximately $ 75,000. The Work Projects Administration supplied the labor and materials and the town, city and individuals contributed. Fox Hill located in Henry Park was bequeathed to the city by E. Stevens Henry. The tower is 72 feet high, has a promenade 220 feet long and its foundation rests on solid rock. Work started 2 years before completing. Native stone was used. There is an observation platform near the top.Bronze tablets bearing the names and also suitable inscriptions of the 3 branches of the service,Army, Navy and Marines appear on the walls of the arcade.It is a halo gracefully crowning the head of the city.
