Jednoduchá multikeš o bývalé soše na Ladronce. Souřadnice finálky můžete získat na úvodních souřadnicích klasickým výpočtem nebo z NFC tagu.

A simple multi-cache about a former statue on Ladronka. You can get final coordinates on the initial coordinates by classical calculation or from an NFC tag. English text below.

Ocelový běžec, Michal Gabriel

V únoru 2022 umístila Městská část Praha 6 do parku Ladronka sochu Ocelový běžec od známého sochaře Michala Gabriela. Stejně jako u blízké rozhledny Šiška od Čestmíra Sušky byla socha zapůjčena zdarma původně na rok a půl. Městská část v obou případech zaplatila jen dopravu a pojištění. Zatímco k zachování rozhledny Šišky a přidruženého menšího objektu Kavárny Šišky byla v červenci 2021 vyhlášena anketa, kde u veřejnosti převážil kladný názor, Ocelový běžec byl po více než dvou letech v květnu 2024 odvezen.

U Běžce i u obou Šišek se v době umístění objevilo mnoho názorů místních i vzdálených obyvatel, mezi nimi přirozeně i mnoho negativních. Na sítích se rozebíralo, proč socha vypadá, jak vypadá a co má znázorňovat. Více lidí se ptalo, proč je na Ladronce socha kosmonauta.

Keš vznikla v době přítomnosti sochy, takže díky mnoha kačerům, kteří sdíleli její fotky, se v galerii obrázků z logů sešla hezká sbírka vzpomínek na Běžce. Byla by škoda kvůli zmizení sochy keš archivovat, tak ji zachovávám v původní podobě jako vzpomínkovou.

Přestože na webu umělce je u Ocelového běžce i teď uvedeno „bez umístění“, potkal jsem ho úplně náhodou v červenci 2025 na Lannově třídě v Českých Budějovicích. Viz waypoint.

Můj názor (v době umístění sochy)

Zdánlivě bezobličejná obrovitá osoba zaseklá v pohybu roste ze svého hrbolatého stínu. Přes mřížku z jejího kovového masa je vidět nepřítomný výraz, ale jen když běží přímo k vám. Nezajímá ji ani metr vedle cesty. Stejně jako když potkávám běžce, co si to šinou předem danou trasou v tranzu pohybu. Pro ně je to možná jediná chvíle tu hlavu vyprázdnit a nechat si profouknout pláty. Geometrie poskytuje možnost bezabrazivního prolnutí s protibežnými kosmonauty.

Jsem pro oživení veřejného prostoru uměním, ne však za každou cenu. Myslím si, že současná socha by měla být trochu kontroverzní. Dotýkat se něčeho většího, než jen plochého tématu, jako že na Ladronce se běhá, tak to bude běžec. Měla by vyvolávat otázky, což je tady splněno aspoň tím vzhledem. Umístění by šlo zvolit lepší. Takhle šoupnuté kamsi vedle cesty asi nemá tu dynamiku, kterou si autor představoval.

Osobně mi sedí spíš Suškův rezavý styl, ale za necelý rok Běžcova ustrnutí jsem ho celkem přijal a myslím, že tady má svoje místo.

Budu rád, když se v logu podělíte o svůj názor.

Najít keš

Krabička je jen pár minut chůze odsud. Pro získání finálních souřadnic máte na výchozím místě dvě možnosti. Do logu prosím napište, kterou jste si vybrali.

Moderní varianta

Na waypointu Indicie NFC najdete dvě lavičky u prašné cesty, která vede podél cyklostezky. Na zadní straně lavičky blíž křižovatce cest je dřevěný štítek s NFC tagem. Ten načtěte a získejte přímo polohu finálky. Pokud někdo na lavičkách sedí, využijte druhou možnost!

Pro načtení NFC tagu potřebujete telefon s podporou NFC. Zapněte v nastavení NFC a odemčený telefon přidržte chvíli před štítkem, nebo na něj klepněte horní částí telefonu. Moderní systémy vám informaci ukážou samy, u starších možná budete potřebovat doinstalovat nějakou čtečku.

Klasická varianta

Přímo na výchozích souřadnicích je sloup veřejného osvětlení. Přečtěte si jeho výrobní číslo. Pozor, jde o pěticiferné číslo ze zeleného štítku, ne šesticiferné z kovového.

Prosba

Neběhejte a nechoďte po cyklostezkách! Když už z nějakého důvodu musíte, jděte po okraji a za tmy buďte osvětlení. Pokud jste na bruslích, na cyklostezky můžete, ale máte stejné povinnosti, jako cyklisté. Především prosím dbejte na své osvětlení, ať jste vidět. Na Ladronce jsou tmavé úseky. Jde o bezpečnost vás i ostatních, ale i o dobré vztahy.

Ocelový běžec (Steel Runner), Michal Gabriel

In February 2022, the Prague 6 Municipal District placed a statue of the Steel Runner by the well-known sculptor Michal Gabriel in Ladronka Park. As with the nearby Šiška tower by Čestmir Suška, the statue was originally loaned free of charge for a year and a half. In both cases, the municipal district paid only for transport and insurance. While the retention of the Šiška tower and the associated smaller Šiška Café building was the subject of a poll in July 2021, where the public's opinion was overwhelmingly positive, the Steel Runner was removed in May 2024 after more than two years.

For the Runner and both Šiškas, there were many opinions from local and distant residents at the time of placement, including naturally many negative ones. On the networks, there were discussions about why the statue looks the way it does and what it is supposed to represent. More people asked why there was a statue of an astronaut on Ladronka.

The cache was created during the statue's presence, so thanks to the many cachers who shared photos of it, a nice collection of memories of Runner have been gathered in the gallery of images from the logs.

It would be a shame to archive the cache because of that, so I'm keeping it in its original form as a memorial.

Although on the artist's website, the statue is now mentioned "without placement", I met it in July 2025 at Lannova Street in České Budějovice. See the waypoint.

My opinion (at the time of the statue's placement)

A seemingly faceless giant person stuck in motion grows from his lumpy shadow. An absent expression can be seen through the lattice of its metallic flesh, but only when it runs towards you. It doesn't care a foot beside the road. Just like when I meet runners who are sewing their way along a predetermined route in a trance of motion. For them, it may be the only time to empty that head and let the plates blow through. The geometry provides an opportunity to blend in seamlessly with the counterpart cosmonauts.

I'm all for enlivening public space with art, but not at any cost. I think contemporary sculpture should be a bit controversial. Touching on something bigger than a flat subject, like the fact that there are runners running on Ladronka. It should raise questions, which is fulfilled here at least by the look. The placement could have been better. Tucked away like this next to the path, it probably doesn't have the dynamic the author envisioned.

Personally, I'm more suited to Suška's rusty style, but in less than a year of Runner's stopping in time and space I've come to accept it quite well, and I think it has its place here.

Find a cache

The cache is just a few minutes walk from here. You have two options to get the final coordinates. Please write in the log which one you have chosen.

The modern option

At waypoint Indicie NFC you will find two benches by the dirt road that runs along the cycle path. There is a wooden label with an NFC tag inside on the back of the bench near the intersection of the paths. Read it and you will get the location of the cache directly. If someone is sitting on the benches, use the second option!

You need an NFC-enabled phone to read the NFC tag. Turn on NFC in the settings and hold your unlocked phone in front of the tag, or tap it with the top of your phone. Modern systems will show you the information themselves, older ones may need you to install a reader.

The classic option

There is a lighting pole at the starting coordinates. Read its serial number under the "Výrobní číslo:". Note that it's the five-digit number from the green label, not the six-digit number from the metal one.

Add the digits of the serial number in ABCDE format to the formula.

Please

Don't run or walk on the bike paths! If you must for some reason, stick on the edge and be lit in the dark. If you are on skates, you can use the bike paths, but you have the same responsibilities as cyclists. Just please be mindful of your lighting, be visible. There are dark sections on Ladronka. It's about safety for you and others, but it's also about good relations.
