This is a very enjoyable, easy 1 mile hike with well marked paths and fun things to see and explore along the way. Due to many recent blow downs in the area, there are even small stick forts that have been constructed by visitors. They are a neat addition and just past this geocache location if you continue on the purple marked trail.
Whelan is a dog friendly, short hike owned and managed by the Town of Barnstable Conservation Department. You will find an interpretative trail here: Trail Guide
This geocache is a regular sized container with plenty of room for swag and trackables about 20 ft off the trail at the base of a Tamarack tree. Tamaracks are very neat trees and you can read about these deciduous confiers here: Tamarack Fun Facts
There is an unregistered trackable for the FTF.
