Cegielnia / Brickworks
[PL] Na samym początku stawu nie było tu wcale. Była tutaj natomiast glinianka należąca do cegielni Juliusa Rothera powstała w 1865 roku. Teren cegielni ciągnął się od placu dworcowego aż po teren dzisiejszego stawu. Ulicy Mickiewicza, stadionu miejskiego ani innych budynków nie było. Sama glinianka była usytuowana na tyłach zakładu.
[EN] At the very beginning, there was no pond here at all. Instead, there was a clay pit belonging to the Julius Rother brickworks, established in 1865. The area of the brickyard stretched from the station square to the area of today's pond. There was no Mickiewicz Street, no municipal stadium or other buildings. The brickyard itself was located at the rear of the plant.

After the clay was extracted between about 1930 and 1933, the clay pit was converted into a municipal pond.

[PL] Po drugiej wojnie światowej gdy Chojnów został zasiedlony przez polaków staw został mianowany "Łabędzim Stawem" i był utrzymywany w bardzo dobrym stanie. Było tutaj typowe miejskie kąpielisko. Była wieża dla ratowników, przebieralnie, toalety i sklepik w którym można było kupić jedzenie i picie.
[EN] After the Second World War, when Chojnów was settled by Poles, the pond was named "Swan Pond" and was kept in very good condition. There was a typical municipal bathing area. There was a lifeguard tower, changing rooms, toilets and a shop where you could buy food and drink.

[PL] Po upadku komunizmu ludzie powoli przestali dbać o staw. Współcześnie głębokość zbiornika wynosi średnio 2 - 5 m, przy czym najgłębiej jest na środku stawu. Dno łowiska jest muliste, jednak w środkowej części dno wysypano żwirem. Brzegi trawiaste, łagodne miejscami porośnięte trzcinami. Stanowisk wędkarskich w pojęciu budowli łowisko nie posiada. Do stawu wpływają dwa małe źródełka. Zasiedlona ryba to: karp, leszcz, karaś, płoć, okoń, lin oraz pojedyncze okazy szczupaka i sandacza. Okresowo staw zarybia się karpiem. Opiekunem łowiska jest "Koło Miejskie PZW Chojnów", zbiornik nosi numer ewidencyjny "2350 Okręg PZW Legnica". Jak głosi legenda, a powtarzają ją najstarsi wędkarze, podczas wojny po wykolejeniu się pociągu z kilkunastometrowego nasypu kolejowego stoczyła się lokomotywa i na zawsze spoczęła na dnie stawu. Przed zbiornikiem wybudowano miejsce do rozpalania ognisk lub grilla. Do łowiska dojechać można od strony stadionu piłkarskiego lub uliczką przy tak zwanym małym kościele.
[EN] After the fall of communism, people slowly stopped taking care of the pond. Nowadays, the depth of the pond is on average 2 - 5 m, the deepest being in the middle of the pond. The bottom of the fishery is muddy, but in the middle part the bottom is covered with gravel. The banks are grassy, gentle with reeds in places. The fishery does not have any fishing stands in terms of structures. Two small springs flow into the pond. Stocked fish include carp, bream, crucian carp, roach, perch, tench and single specimens of pike and pike-perch. The pond is periodically stocked with carp. The fishery is managed by "Koło Miejskie PZW Chojnów", the reservoir bears the registration number "2350 PZW Legnica District". According to legend, repeated by the oldest anglers, during the war, after a train derailed, a locomotive rolled down an embankment several metres high and rested forever at the bottom of the pond. In front of the reservoir, a place for bonfires or barbecues has been built. The fishery can be reached from the football stadium or through a lane by the so-called Little Church.
