Geocache Description:

Pettis Path #4

This is a two stage multi. You must find the object at stage #1 to reach the final.

Both stages are a 'small' size. Terrain rating is higher for stage 1 than the final.

Be sure to bring a writing utensil.

Happy caching, all!

This series is along a newly constructed hike and bike path following Pettis Avenue. This paved trail spans four miles between Forest Hills Eastern High School and Chief Hazy Cloud Park.

For the most efficient caching experience, use the recommended parking area and pursue the caches in numerical order. Parking coords, the path, and all caches are located on public land recently acquired by Kent County. However, you may see some structures, objects, etc. from the previous owners.

This series is meant to be completed while walking the paved path, however caches ARE NOT directly alongside the trail. Some may require bushwhacking and/or difficult terrain. This area is adjacent to the Grand River and may be muddy, wet, or just plain flooded (pun intended!) during certain times of the year. Please note terrain ratings and pay attention to your surroundings while hunting these caches!

11/10/24: Parking updated! There is a newly paved parking lot and trailhead at Egypt Valley Rd & Pettis Ave. If you are biking the whole path, you can start at Chief Hazy Cloud Park or Forest Hills East High School.

Congrats to Merlin1392, Flyguysgal, BinderyGuy, & CCSquire on the New Year’s Eve group FTF!
