Franklin Academy is Mississippi's oldest free public school. It was chartered by the state legislature when Mississippi was in it's fourth year of statehood.
The posted coordinates lead you to the area in front of the school, where there are multiple markers/monuments that document the history of the school. The school personnel and the people of Columbus expect people to come to this spot to visit the markers.
These markers are the first stage of this multi-staged geocache. This first stage is entirely virtual. The answers to the questions listed below can all be found on the one large monument. Once you find all the answers, you will complete the formula to establish the coordinates of the final stage.
