It's Friday the 13th!

Not many of these, and they jump around on the calendar. 

 

The CO has been a big fan of Friday the 13th events since at least college.

A quick, late afternoon event - ending before/around dusk.  Hopefully some folks can swing by on their way home, given that it's on a Friday.

Bring your dry, clean, empty GLASS recyclables to throw into the purple bins here.  Smashy fun!

CO is still waiting for a specific day to be approved for a full CITO here.  Hopefully soon.  Concept has been approved; date just has to be coordinated for them to pick up our collected trash afterward so it won't sit for long.  Have inquired per several requests; we are NOT allowed to hold these events as mini-CITOs.

For now, we'll recycle and smash our own glass plus any intact bits/stray glass containers we see in the vicinity. If folks want to pick up/pack out additional items, bonus. You would have to dispose of the trash elsewhere for this one.  BYOGloves/grabbers if you're planning to collect much.

At this event:  talk geo-recycling, geo-freezing, and listen to the CO jabber about their college's long-running, semiannual, overnight radio TRIVIA contest, now mostly online, that happens to be this evening this time around.  Unless we're having a warm spell, you'll get to hear the CO complain about being cold ;)  Bringing trackables to share or have discovered is welcome.

Kids, SOs, friends, family, visitors, travelers, new cachers, and caching-curious muggle buddies are all welcome. Don't know us yet? You will soon enough ;)

Event will STILL HAPPEN if there's a little snow on the ground or a little coming down - though not if there's a big storm or if the roads/parking area are impassable.  Watch this site for updates.

Make that immediate left as you come into the lot from the light so you don't have to turn around.  Wheelchair, crutches, walker, bike, scooter, stroller accessible.  Distancing is easy here. You can get in and out of your car intermittently - or even park right near us and talk through your window - to stay warm if needed.

Guests, mini-cachers, and dogs welcome, but watch paws/feet in the glassy area near each purple bin.  There are shards on the ground there from folks who missed.

Outdoors; no cover, so dress for any weather (or do the car thing).  There is a port-a-potty onsite.  There is a shopping center across the road with various food options and a gas station should you need to refuel.  Multiple caches nearby, including my Thanksgiving puzzle from a previous year (Doggo Walking:  Leftovers).

Please follow any pandemic safety protocols, such as not coming if you have been exposed to/have had COVID within the past couple of weeks or if you are sick in general.
