In the Gideon Grove near Gideona flows a tributary of Nahal Harod, which is about 35 km long and begins at the Gideon Cave in the Mein Harud National Park and flows into the Jordan river, north of Kibbutz Ma'oz Chaim.
The grove is named after Gideon ben Yoash, the biblical judge who saved Israel from the Midianites, who were nomads who lived in the desert and traveled between Saudi Arabia and the Sinai Peninsula.
The stream flows powerfully into two shallow and pleasant pools, which are located in a grove next to the road and there is a chance that you have passed by many times without knowing the place.
The spring water is at a temperature of about 28 degrees all year round, which makes it especially easy to enter the water.
You will be pleased to know that recently the River Drainage Authority responsible for the restoration of the area's streams has invested resources in the place and even planted a wide variety of trees from the Land of Israel, among others you will notice a pomegranate, fig, sycamore, carob and date.
Near the pool you will also spot a large Atlantic pistacio that provides shade for those bathing in the pools.
Those looking for a short trip will find a circular walking path that is about 500 meters long and surrounds the stream at both ends.
The Cache is in the grove planted next to the pool. Please help to keep the area clean, beware of metals coming out of the ground, snakes, scorpions and, of course, Muggles.
