Greg and Gene placed this cache in a little known park outside Loop 1604, take NW Miltary outside 1604, entrance is just before Camp Bullis. Parking is at 29.37.313/98.34.429, with a sign for the park trails at 29.37.296/98.34.460. Cache is in camouflaged screw-top container.
Starting with CD-ROM game, bouncy balls, tennis ball, pin on buttons, and stress balls.
A good hike back over rocky terrain, take water! Also a good bit of sawgrass/yucca, so long pants could be a good idea.

10/16/03 - I've received this letter from the San Antonio Parks and recreation department today. This cache will be retired on October 19. Please leave it there, if you find it between now and then; I'll be picking it up soon. Sorry to let my first caches, and some of the first ones in San Antonio go bye-bye.

Dear Geocacher and Park Patron,
We need your help to preserve San Antonio's rich natural heritage. It has
come to our attention that you have placed a geocache at Eisenhower Park.
We ask that this geocache listing be removed from the web and the cache be
relocated from the park.
This park is a City of San Antonio Natural Areas preserve. These parks
preserve your natural heritage and contain many fragile biological
features, including several endangered species. Park policy is for all
visitors to stay on designated trails as this land is extremely sensitive
to any human impact. Off-trail use is the primary cause of degradation
occurring in this park. Only one such occurrence can be the cause for an
endangered song-bird to abandon its nest. One footprint can destroy an
endangered plant. The designated trails are carefully designed to allow
users to experience the park's riches and natural beauty while preserving
those very resources.
Geocaching is a wonderful sport and encourages people to experience the
outdoors. The environmental sensitivity of many geocachers is exemplary.
However, real caches are not appropriate to nature preserves. A virtual
cache might be an alternative you could consider.
Please help us preserve these unique and irreplaceable treasures of
nature. I hope you will continue to visit and enjoy the Natural Areas
parks, but not for real geocaching. Would you help spread the word to
