Happy 2023!
This is the first geocache of 2023 for Masters O (age 8) and E (age 6).
The Geocache container has a few small treasures inside meant for trading. If you take one, leave one, and please let us know, because part of the fun is tracking where things go.
First Street Rapids Park area has lots of little pool areas to cool feet in the summer and a bridge to play Pooh Sticks from. There is a nice riverside trail that can be started from Pinoneer Park and can go all the way up to Sawyer Oark via the bridge - with some benches and historic information markers along the way. There is also a small natural play area for kids, with logs and stumps to play on. There is river access for kayaks and canoes. This stretch of the river is also a good place to spot many birds, otters and beavers.
While looking for the cache, if you get to a chain link fence you have gone too far. It is between the trail and the sheer rock cliff (not in the cliff) to the east of the trail.
Dogs welcome on-leash.
Multiple parking options nearby, in order of proximity:
- First Street Rapids parking east
- First Street Rapids west side of river
- Pioneer Park parking - best for a nice riverside walk to the cache site and another cache in the park
