弘法大師像は、大正15年（1926）荒尾町小島琇吉さんが先祖供養にと、大仏の南100ｍの地に建てました。昭和の初めから、聚楽園の弘法さん・大仏さんは東海市だけでなく近隣の人々に、慣れ親しんできました。弘法さんは平成2年（1990）、大仏さんの聚楽園大旅館は平成3年（1991）壊され、東海市しあわせ村敷地になりました。こちらはその跡地となるそうです。写真は当時の物になります
The statue of Kobo Daishi was erected in 1926 (15th year of the Taisho era) by Kojima Kokichi of Arao Town as an ancestor memorial and 100 meters south of the Great Buddha. Since the beginning of the Showa era, Jurakuen's Kobo-san and Daibutsu-san have become familiar not only with Tokai City but also with the people of their neighborhoods. Kobo-san was demolished in Heisei 2 (1990), and Daibutsu-san's Jurakuen Ryokan was demolished in Heisei 3 (1991) and became the site of Shiawase Village in Tokai City.
