The Emerald Way was first built to Fairford leys in 2007 as part of the gemstone Cycleways network. After in 2008 it got extended to Hayden hill via Brunel Road. In 2022 the Buckinghamshire Council had plans to upgrade and re-route parts of the emerald Way. In June 2022 phase 1 of the new platinum way named after the queen’s platinum jubilee was opened by one of the mayor’s of Aylesbury. The new route now go’s through Summerville way and it will take you onto long leys. The rest of the platinum way takes you along Chelsea Road and onto the greenway where there’s another scenic series to do that we recommend. N onto the cache
