Geocache Description:

Welcome to Townsend, Montana. County seat of Broadwater County. Population 1,787 (2020 Census.) Located at the intersection of MT Hwy 287 and US Hwy 12. Just 35 miles from the Headwaters of the mighty Missouri River. Situated at the head of Canyon Ferry Lake, a mecca for watersports from fishing to water-skiing, and even ice-boating in winter.

The Corps of Discovery were the first non-Natives to pass this way, in 1805. In 1883, a railstop was established to support gold mining activities in the area. The city was named for Susan Townsend, wife of Northern Pacific Railroad's president Charles Barstow Wright. More recently, the town was the birthplace of actor Patrick Duffy.

The cache you seek is near the one (blinking) traffic light in town. There is no writing tool, and a TOTT may be needed to jot down proof of the find.

Enjoy the hospitality offered by the friendly folks in town while you are here.  Cheers!

Congratulations to xLoreleix for recording the FTF.
