CITO Returns to Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park in Season 1!
Rejoice, all ye far-end-of-the-island dwellers (and everywhere-else dwellers), for we return to a classic—for a good reason—central Singapore CITO venue for our customary Season 1 event to usher in the school holidays! As usual, this will be a classic environmental clean-up exercise, which is again a fancy way of saying we'll pick up trash as we enjoy a.. nice(!) morning walk.
Quick Details: 11 March 2023 (Saturday), 8 - 9.30am, Recycle Hill (Bishan-AMK Park)
Detailed Details:
The Event: We will rendezvous at Recycle Hill (posted coordinates) at 8am. We'll say our hellos, sign ourselves in on the logbook, pick up our trash bags and gloves, and begin our walk at around 8.20am. Trash bags and gloves will be provided in limited quantities, so you are encouraged to bring your own. Expect to cover about 2 km on foot, which at a very leisurely pace will take just over an hour.
Yucky Weather: Stay tuned to Event Announcement logs in case of inclement weather. We'll seek shelter at Block 237 Bishan St 22 ('Wet Weather' waypoint) for up to 45 minutes, then if the weather clears up proceed along a shortened route. If poor weather continues to poop on our party, a decision may be taken to call off the walk.
The Route: The walking route will take us around the eastern part of Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, and will be about 2 km long. The route will be entirely on footpaths, except if you are going to attempt to pick up certain geocaches along the way.
I Want In!: Write your 'Will Attend' log if you're thinking of coming, so that you receive official event announcements which will contain useful information and updates by the host.
What to Bring:
- Essential: comfortable footwear for a long-ish walk, sun protection, drinking water, a pen or pencil
- Good to have: an umbrella or raincoat, gloves, trash bag(s), a trash picker

- What if I want to meet the group halfway? Message me with your arrival time and I'll send you either a landmark or set of coordinates to rendezvous with the group at.
- What if I just want to pop by and say hi? Yes, of course, please do drop by.
- I'm undecided, but how do I stay in the loop? Either log a 'Will Attend' or Watch the listing and you'll receive notifications. Important event announcements will be sent via Announcement logs.
- What if unforeseen circumstances require event changes or cancellation? While the host is committed to a successful CITO, the host also reserves the right to make changes to, or cancel, the event due to any unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.
Post-Event: If there is enough interest amongst attendees after our walk, we could head somewhere for late morning tea and brunch, chit chat, et cetera. If there's anyone who wishes to join us only for this bit, please also let us know. You are absolutely welcome to pop by at any time.
