Riding or walking along a seemingly monotonous section of blueway with little activity on either side might sound tedious, but there's pleasure amongst the pain, or even no pain at all. Maybe the water and plant life evokes the biophilia hypothesized by EO Wilson in 1984, or maybe it's the aesthetic of sparse landscapes such as in the excellent Walking in LA and the way this contrasts with the frenetic activity in most other parts of the city. Or maybe it's the inherent pleasure of walking, wondering what's around the next corner, or something else entirely. Or maybe some people find only pain, in which case hopefully grabbing this cache will help! Feel free to share your impressions of the blueway in the log.
The cache here is mainly surrounded by banana trees but a short distance away to the south are two huge industrial sites: concrete production and a chemical plant. A steady flow of workers related to these industrial sites now use the blueway as part of their work access trip. The blueway pathway was built in 2019, with the blue pavement finished by late 2020, but more than 2 years later the section of the blueway here is no closer to completion and the gate remains stubbornly locked, probably related to the proximity of the border with Zengcheng. The warehouses across the canal were demolished in early 2023, clearing the way hopefully for the blueway connection here to be opened.
