The is the second in a series of caches designed for newcomers to geocaching.
The Guardrail Cache, or GRC, is usually one of the easiest kinds of caches for a beginner to find. Many guardrails are near roads or other potentially hazardous areas, so be cautious, especially with small children. Other guardrails, such as this one, pose much less risk.
Many GRCs are microcaches because of the limited space, but are sometimes larger.
GRCs are often difficult to find in the winter, because snowplows tend to pile snow near guardrails.
A 1.5/1.5 rating means it has a difficulty of 1.5, and a terrain of 1.5, on a scale of 1.0-5.0. A 1.5/1.5 cache is one of the easiest to find.
The difficulty rating refers to the effort needed to solve and find the cache and logbook. A 1.5-star difficulty rating means it should be easy to find or solve within 10-15 minutes.
The terrain rating refers to the physical effort needed to arrive at coordinates and sign the logbook. A 1.5-star difficulty rating means the hike is less than 0.5 mile (0.8 km). Most likely flat but may not be wheelchair accessible.
This cache has a 1.5 difficulty because there are several possible places the cache might be hidden. Is it along the curb? Near the culvert? On the guardrail, and if so, where? It has a terrain rating of 1.5 because someone in a wheelchair would probably have difficulty reaching the cache, but it's still a basically flat, short walk from nearby parking.
