A fabulous seventh annual fun family skate at the Richmond Green Skate Trail, with coffee and hot chocolate to warm us up. 6:30-7:30 p.m. Hot chocolate and coffee will be provided.
The Richmond Green skate trail is a fun spot for families and a great spot for an event: it is well-lit with ambient music, perfect for night skating at the end of a long week. It's great for both new and experienced skaters with it being a trail vs a rink. Yes, support frames for kids are permitted! From the parking, head up the walkway and meet at the covered entrance to the skate trail. There are washrooms in the nearby arena if needed. Please note: helmets for children are required by Richmond Hill Parks and Rec to participate in the skate on the trail. Are you not into skating or a non-skater? No worries, the hosts don't skate either! There are picnic tables for sitting and sipping hot chocolate and/or coffee which will be provided, or catching photos of skaters in action (upright or otherwise). Trade geocaching adventure stories while trading trackables.
Added note: if there is an extreme cold weather alert or if it rains, this event will be postponed to the following Friday, February 24. We will make an announcement as ahead of time as possible should this occur.
Unusual skating sights may occur. In the past we have had the Frankenskater and a skating Cachesaurus Rex!
There will be a group photo taken at 7:30 to end the event. You are welcome, of course, to skate on and stay as long as you would like.
