My Kind of Fridge
In a corner of the HDB void deck at Block 441 Tampines Street 43, lies a pair of refrigerators as well as a freezer. But these aren't going anywhere, these are part of a grassroots initiative called "My Kind of Fridge"! Under the initiative, the public can donate fresh food, be it vegetables, fish, meat, eggs, or fruits, to needy residents of Blocks 441 and 442, or even anyone.
"Anonymous person donates squid & cuttlefish balls to Tampines community fridges, all gone in 2 days"
The initiative, which began in January 2017, is one of the first community fridges in Singapore with more to come. Let's hope the community spirit lives on and more people will benefit from such initiatives! Such a cool idea, I must say.
