The Vishoek Trail originates in Hersham and connects it to the Great Brak River estuary.
This trail was built by local conservancy members at around 1882. At first, the Vishoek Trail was maintained by the inhabitants of Hersham, consisting of only about eight households in those days.
The trail is approximately 140 years old and not only important in terms of historical value, but boasts viewing points worthy of conservation.
The Trail starts off Hersham drive in Hersham and makes its way down to the estuary mouth and beach. It is a short historical trail, well worth walking in the footsteps of those who came before us.
