Jack Sparrow is a fictional character in the Pirates of the Caribbean film series portrayed by Johnny Depp. This film series was inspired by the Disney theme park ride of the same name.
During his search for the Dead Man's Chest, Jack Sparrow is given a jar of dirt by the mystic Tia Dalma to protect him from Davy Jones. Davy Jones was unable to step on land except for once every 10 years.
Tia Dalma: Land is where you are safe, Jack Sparrow, and so you will carry land with you.
Jack Sparrow: Dirt. This is a jar of dirt.
Tia Dalma: Yes.
Jack Sparrow: ...Is the jar of dirt going to help?
Tia Dalma: If you don't want it, give it back.
Jack Sparrow: [greedily] No!
Tia Dalma: Then it helps.
Later in the film he falsely believes Davy Jones' heart is in the jar of dirt so begins taunting him in a sing-song manner. "I've got a jar of dirt, I've got a jar of dirt, and guess what's inside it?"
Fun fact: during the filming, this scene is both unscripted and improvised by Johnny Depp leaving most of the reactions from the rest of the characters to be real as he ran wild with the jar of dirt!
This part of the Searcy Bike Trail needed a few more caches! For this one you can take the wide dirt trail off the paved bike trail, probably getting within about 65 feet of the cache location. Please return to its upright position and where the camo provides some natural weather protection as well.
