Geocache Description:

The Keuka Outlat Trail runs about 7 miles from Keuka Lake in Penn Yan to Seneca Lake in Dresden, along the Keuka Outlet.  The trail began as a towpath along the outlet for transporting grain, and was eventually converted to a railway before finally returning to the trail we now enjoy.  Along the trail, walkers can see a number of waterfalls, the site of many former mills, "Turtle Pond", and many other sights.  Today, the Outlet Trail is enjoyed by locals and visitors alike as they walk, bike, and ride its beuatiful length.

This cache marks the start of the Duck Race, which takes place every June.  From here you can watch over 1500 yellow ducks fall into the outlet.  It's a lot of fun to watch the ducks fall into the water, but even if you're not able to watch the Duck Race in person, this is a great viewpoint to look out into the outlet.  If you'd like more information on the Duck Race on the Outlet Trail, you can so a quick search to learn about it and find out the exact date each year.  It really is fun to watch!  Parking is available on Central Ave, just off Seneca Street.
