Leta 1770 so v Franciji določili novo dolžinsko mero in sicer meter.

Pred uveljavitvijo metrskega sistema so uporabljali veliko različnih merskih enot.
Klaftro so uvedli v nemških rudnikih.

Rimski vozovi so imeli točno predpisano osno razdaljo.

POINT 1
Even simple peoples used basic units of measurement when building dwellings, designing clothes, trading in food and natural materials. Units of measurement were among the first inventions of mankind. One of the first quantities measured was length. When determining the units, they used what was closest to hand (step, foot, cubit, finger, reach...).
For a long time, agreed measures were used in trade, tax collection, and land measurement. Since they were not standardized, they were difficult to compare with each other. One of the length measurement units was also the shoe. In our regions, the Wiener Fuß was used, which measured 31.6 cm. In 1777, Queen Maria Theresa published the first metrology code, with which she wanted to unify measurement units. Since the innovation was met with severe resistance, her son, Emperor Joseph II, had to in 1784 to withdraw from the changes.
In 1770, a new measure of length, namely the meter, was established in France. It was defined as a distance equal to ten millionths of one quarter of the Earth's meridian passing through Paris. The metric decade system developed from it, with the basic measures meter, liter, kilogram.
The introduction of the metric system was prescribed for all of Austria by the law of July 23, 1871. With this, the Slovenian lands also had to adopt the new measures. Today, the metric system is used by most countries in the world, with only three exceptions: the USA, Myanmar and Liberia
TASK 1:

POINT 2
The stone you are standing in front of it has an engraved elevation in two units. The first unit is Wiener Fuß, and the second is meters. Considering the double measurement unit, it can be concluded that it was erected around 1870, that is, at the time of the transition to the metric measurement system, which we still use today.
Until 1978, when the gas pipeline was being built across Hrušica, the original high stone stood under the Lanišče fortress. During the construction work, the stone disappeared. At the end of 2022, a copy made on the basis of photographs was placed in the original place.
Before the introduction of the metric system, many different units of measurement were used. One such is the klafter, which is still unofficially used as a volume unit for firewood. One klafter is four cubic meters of grafted one-meter logs.
Due to disuse, it has been forgotten that the klaftra was also a measure of length, which in principle corresponded to the size of the outstretched arms of an average man. Klafter was introduced in German mines. The larger mines were so influential that they were able to develop and enforce their own clan. Among the mines in Kranjska, only Idrija established its own. The Idrija's klatra should be measured according to the length of the mine's wooden cave support.
TASK 2:
Next to the stone is a spruce on which is the forest department border. At the height of the marking, measure its circumference. Use another old unit of measurement, the handspan. Number of handspan (a woman's hand) = X. Length of Idrija klafter in meters = (29.57 - X)/X. Continue down the road for about 320 Idrija klafters far to point 3.
POINT 3
The ancient world knew seven wonders. The first and largest was built of stone, and various messages were carved into it, which have been preserved for thousands of years. Even in the miniature you are standing in front of is engraved the data you need to determine the end point of the treasure.
NOTHING NEEDS TO BE MOVED - JUST LOOK AND YOU WILL FIND IT.
TASK 3: The coordinates of the end point are: N 45° 53._ _ _ E 14° 10. _ _ _
POINT 4
You can go to the end point along the old Roman road (see directions). This is the route that led from Emona (Ljubljana) through Ad Pirum (Hrušica) to Aquileia (Oglej) and on to Rome. The path runs parallel to the road on which there is a mountain stone, and you can follow it back to the fortress at Lanišče, where you probably started.
The Roman Empire was a true model of organization, order and standards. They used measuring units such as: inch, palm, foot, cubit, step, etc., which were in use until 1871. Roman chariots had a precisely prescribed axle distance. This resulted in everyone riding more or less the same line, resulting in worn rock. If you look carefully, you will find stone-carved wheel tracks and stone-fortified banks on the Roman road, which bear witness to the many travelers, merchants and soldiers who traveled on this nearly 2,000-year-old road in chariots, in horse saddles or on foot.
The Roman step was 0.74 m long. 460 Roman steps separate you from the final point.
