Geoffrey O'Cache was a man of many talents. Born and raised in Ireland, he spent his early years working on his family's farm. But Geoffrey had a restless spirit, and he longed for adventure. So, when he was offered the chance to join a barnstorming baseball team in the United States, he jumped at the opportunity.
For years, Geoffrey traveled the country with the team, playing baseball and living the life of a nomad. But as he entered his later years, he began to tire of the constant travel. When a friend offered him a piece of land in Ontario, Canada, Geoffrey saw it as the perfect opportunity to settle down and retire.
With his savings from his days as a ballplayer, Geoffrey bought the land and set up a small farm. But he soon discovered that the farm life was not for him. Instead, he turned to his other passion: distilling moonshine.
Geoffrey's moonshine quickly became popular in the area, and he built up a loyal customer base. But Geoffrey had always been a bit of a risk-taker, and he soon found himself looking for new ways to make money.
That's when he turned to bank robbing. With a group of like-minded accomplices, Geoffrey began robbing banks all over Ontario. His exploits became the stuff of legend, and he was soon known as the "Moonshine Bandit."
Despite his life of crime, Geoffrey was never caught by the authorities. He lived a long and full life, passing away at the age of 87 surrounded by his loved ones. But his memory lived on, and he became a folk hero in the area, remembered for his daring escapades and his delicious moonshine.
(H/T to the person who had previously placed a geocache in this cemetery...we repurposed your bison tube after discovering it a year after the cache went missing...we happened across it tucked away within the archway. Someone must've come across it after the fence had fallen down <3)
