The Warren Series.
Near the village of Clarinbridge, Kilcornan Woodland was previously part of the Reddington Estate. There is a network of forest trails adding up to approx. 8 km’s in length in total, along with many, many lesser travelled trails. The main walkway (from either entrance), is paved and easily accessible, however, the rest are forest trails with various natural obstacles, rocks and felled trees. The forest is riddled with stone walls and hidden history and there are plenty of different types of flora, fauna and tree species to be seen along the trails, but stay alert as the forest is also used for mountain biking. Please note that some parts get quite muddy and slick during the winter months, so come prepared with appropriate footwear and layers.
Please note the forest has been badly affected by storms meaning many of the paths here are blocked. We hope they may be cleared again in the summer, but for now, accessing this cache means a lot of scrambling over trees.
Despite many visits here, we continue to discover new trails and features on 'dogventures' with our puppers. We hope this trail will show you some of our favourite spots, in a woodland that helped keep us sane during the long lockdowns.
Bring Tweezers and pencil. Cache is not in the ice house.
