Geocache Description:

The footpath along this stream - known locally as "The Runnel" - leads in a few hundred metres to one of the few places locally where it is reasonably easy to get onto the beach (most of the time).  Although the Northern side of the stream is visibly used more often, because it gives better access to the beach, the public footpath is on the Southern side.

The small car park near the cache is usually empty during the week- but used heavily by fishermen at week-ends (but you will normally still find room to park behind them while you search).

Because of it's location and difficulty of access, the beach is often empty and is mostly used by local dog walkers and beach fishermen.  It runs some miles from Withernsea to Spurn Head and is permanently in a state of change.  Some days it is covered by two foot of sand, on others a Northerly gale has stripped it bare and left sections of the underlying boulder clay and the rocks exposed.  It is also occasionally used by fossil hunters who mostly find belemnites and ammonites, but with occasional rarities.

If the weather is half decent, I suggest the beauty and quiet of this beach are well worth the walk.
