In 1840 a French-American settler (who shall remain nameless for now) landed his birchbark canoe at the mouth of the Willow river along the banks of the scenic St Croix river. He liked the spot so much he built a cabin nearby and became the first white settler of the area now known as Hudson, WI.
In order to find the physical cache, you must visit the historical marker located at the coordinates above to collect the name of said settler and the year this marker was placed. Once armed with this information, proceed to the parking area at N44 58.933 W92 45.629 and figure some simple math to complete the real cache coordinates.
N44 58.9nn
W92 45.6yy
where nn = sum of numbers assigned to the letters of the first name.
((A=1, B=2, C=3, etc.)(eg. Chris = 57, Bill = 35)).
and yy = sum of the numbers in the year the marker was placed.
(eg. The year 1952 would be equiv to 1+9+5+2=17).
Once coord's are adjusted its less than a few hundred feet to the cache from the parking area. Stick to the waterline to avoid excessive bushwhacking. Besides, you do want to see the mouth of the Willow river don't you?
