A mid Saturday afternoon CITO litter pick to help rid Long Lane and Newark Road of rubbish
After the event, the landlady of The Willow Tree has kindly agreed to put on tea/coffee and cake for the attendees free of charge
The event will run from 2pm - 4pm
Why here? Back in September we hosted a CITO doing exactly the same thing (GC9YJ62). Villagers was so impressed by the turn out from the geocachers that we've been asked to host another, as 5 months on, the litter is back and even more noticeable now the undergrowth has died back for the winter. They are keen to get on with a litter pick, hence the quick turnaround from publishing the CITO to hosting it.
Please bring the following with you:
- Suitable footwear and clothing
- Gloves
- A litter picker, if you have one
I will provide:
Children are welcome to take part but should be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Dogs are welcome too but should be kept on a lead. Everyone takes part at their own risk, although accidents and incidents are unlikely if we're careful and sensible.
Come along prepared to spend a while clearing the area and removing the litter. Although this is mostly in the form of cans, wrappers, crisp packets etc, it is important to be careful and vigilant when picking up litter. If you see anything that you're not sure of then don't touch it! Call someone else over and we can decide together what to do about it.
At the end of the CITO, we will remove the rubbish collected and dispose of it.
Plenty of parking is available on Front Street outside the pub and further in to the village.
