About three or four years ago this comment was made by someone on a local geocaching discussion page "You always know when you're in the North when you can get 'fifteens'." This gave me an idea for an event but Covid and the global pandemic took over and the event was never held until I eventually made a trip to Malahide a few months ago along with the fifteens. I think they were enjoyed and went down quite well!
I am hoping to make another trip to Malahide near the end of February and the Fifteens are making a return as well.
For those who don't know, fifteens are a type of tray bake from Ulster. The recipe's name derives from the fact that it is typically made with 15 digestive biscuits, 15 marshmallows and 15 glacé cherries, which are combined with condensed milk and covered with desiccated coconut.
So, come along to sample some more fifteens. I hope you will enjoy them.
