Une demande d'autorisation avait été adressée au Roi Louis XVIII (1755-1815) par un particulier désirant  construire un moulin à farine dans les ramiers de l’Ariège et de la Hyse.  Ce n'est qu'au printemps 1821 que les travaux furent entrepris.
