Geocache Description:

Cache is inspired from an old tv show, half-human and half-tree, “Ugat-Puno” represents the environment and our dire need to protect it. Cache is hidden along a Balete Tree, at Ayala Triangle Park.(Check Photo)

You've seen them in some Filipino horror movies. Balete trees, also known as balite or baliti in some provinces, are popular in the Philippines and have been associated with the supernatural. Due to its gargantuan size and entirely bizarre looks, folks believe that it is home to mythical and scary creatures like kapre and engkanto.

Balete trees are several species of the trees in the Philippines from the genus Ficus that are broadly referred to as balete in the local language. A number of these are known as strangler figs wherein they start upon other trees, later entrapping them entirely and finally killing the host tree.

Ayala Triangle Gardens is a commercial area considered as a refuge for the fast-paced Makati city life- perfect for jogging, eating and people-watching.

From being the site of the country’s first landing strip to being the block that held the nucleus of the Philippine business community now emerges a calming & beautiful haven for Makati’s Central Business District is now a landscaped expanse of over 20,000 square meters populated by over a hundred trees with a diverse mix including rain trees, golden palms, fire trees, kamuning and podo cerpus. All these in an open courtyard tastefully interspected with lush greenery and inspired public art pieces from some of the country’s leading artists.

The area is highly muggled. Please use extreme stealth, take your time and effort not to be discovered, as there are always people around.

BTW the logbook is inside a container, bring your own pen! Happy caching! –UwU

*Please return the geocache where you find it.
