The Kilbrannan Sound is the stretch of water that separates the Kintyre Peninsula from the Isle of Arran. It has a maximum width of 8 miles between Arran and the Peninsula which makes it the closest Arran gets to mainland Scotland.
The cache is located in Machrie on the Isle of Arran, with the Machrie Moor standing stones nearby which date back up to 4,500 years ago.. This is a quick cache and dash with parking available nearby where the views over the Sound can be enjoyed.
The sunsets over the hills are spectacular and make this a great cache to do just as the sun is setting.
The cache itself is is a micro cache with room only for a log so bring a pen or pencil for logging, oh and they may be of use to get the log out of its hidey hole 😜
Please put the cache back where found as it can only really go there due to its nature.
