The City of Spokane Parks Department has arranged to have a collection point available near Monroe Street in downtown Spokane in support of CITO efforts that can be made in this much needed area. There will be the option to stay in the landscaped area at ground zero to collect trash near the interstate, walk under the freeway sections to collect garbage, or even to venture further for caches in all the nearby city land.
We will be meeting at Monroe Street on-ramp where the landscaping is close to Fourth Avenue (Approx. 1000 W 4th Ave.) and possibly have a parking lot or nearby spot where the dumpsters will be used as the collection point. The coordinates for the event are at this location and other trash collection areas will be provided from there.
We will have gloves, bags, and grabbers supplied for the event. We were given more materials from our park coordinator at the last event. Please dress as warm as possible. There will be options to cache and leave any trash collected at a dumpster nearby.
