The Texas Spirit Quest
is a series of Caches placed by a few individuals, near cemeteries and historic sites in hopes of paying respect to the many pioneer ancestors that have ‘walked’ before us.
There are hundreds of cemeteries in the rural communities across Texas. This series will introduce you to many of them. The cache pages will provide a virtual history tour of the cemeteries, tombstones and local lore.
Pretty sure a cache used to be here back in the day, but now I'm seizing the site for the TSQ series. This is a small cemetery in pretty good shape as of February 2023. There are at least 116 interments here, with dates of death ranging from 1883 to as recent as 2020. Only a handful of burials are from the Nineteenth Century. Members of the Burditte, Busby, Fulbright, Knight, Powers, Reagan, Thomas, and Wilkinson families have been laid to rest here, among many others.
Good parking is available here and there is a historical marker right at the entrance to the cemetery. However, you need not enter the grounds to make this find. As always, any refinements to the listed coordinates are welcomed.
