Geocache Description:

10:20am Fri 19 Oct 1934:

“Laverton Air Force Base Williams. This is Uniform Romeo November, De Havilland Express Miss Hobart. Over Rodunda Island… All’s well.”

“But Captain Holyman!”

“Yes Gilbert?”

“I fear all is not well. If we do not make it, nobody will ever know what happened!"

A short while later, Miss Hobart disappeared without a trace and today still remains one of Australia’s greatest unsolved aviation mysteries.

What was remarkable, however, about the disappearance of this particular aircraft was not so much the crash but one of the passengers who was lost, and the effect it would have on the entire aviation industry.
