Welcome to Neve Shaanan!
This neighborhood in south Tel Aviv has been neglected for decades. Posted coordinates - The new (well it used to be new) central bus station, did not help improve the situation. And for the past 20 years it has been a main dwelling for foreign workers, mainly from Africa and East Asia.
You will find here a blend of cultures and foods, however the area's reputation is not that good. Although there are many cameras overhead, i did not see any police except near the bus terminal. The main street is Neve Shaanan, currently under works, though you can walk on both sidewalks along it. The further you go from the bus terminal, there are less people.
Disclaimer: If you really don't want to see homeless people, beggars, junkies, weirdos, pork butcher shops (and any combination of these together), this multi cache adventure is not for you!
This is a daylight cache, please don't come in the dark, it is most likely less safe, and harder to see the art. Also, i recommend not walking alone. Hence the Teamwork attribute. Going by bike here may be quite useful.
Having said all that, there are also nice people here, like shop owners both local and foreign who helped me, the seller in the Indian grocery across from one of the art paintings, or a chinese guy who said sorry when he passed while i took a photo of art.
Besides trying African or Oriental authentic foods, another reason to visit is to check the street art, made by local artists encouraged by the city.
