Welcome to Hillsgill Knowe, an area of woodland off the B7016 between Libberton and Biggar. Primarily made up of pine trees, there are pockets of deciduous trees scattered throughout the woodland. It is frequented by dog walkers and a circular route can be formed from a faint path. There are 9 caches forming a circular route of about 1.5 miles. Path conditions are soft are the time of placing so please ensure you wear appropriate footwear. You may spot deer as you make your way around the series of caches here.
A cul-de-sac is a street or passage that is closed at one end. What we see here is less a street and more of a clearing in the trees. This is no ordinary cul-de-sac though as a large cache is hidden here. The lid is quite stiff to come off, but this generally helps keep the damp out.
