Geocache Description:

I love interpretive signs! It only takes a few  minutes of reading to enrich me with fun and interesting facts about the ecology, geology and history of whatever is around me. This GZ is at the eastern head of Kaumana Trail, which is one of the footpaths on Big Island that was once used by ancient Hawaiians.

Take a few minutes to read about it's fascinating history. You are standing at the Eastern Trailhead. If you aren't up to the entire 2.8 mile roundtrip hike, I strongly encourage you to drive 2 miles west to the Western Trailhead and explore the first 100 yards. I think it's the prettiest part and you can have the thrill of walking in ancient footsteps!

🏆 Congratulations Dolfinando on FTF! WTG! 🏆
