Geocache Description:

Log extraction tool required!

Trivia: This is a special place because there is a section of sidewalk nearby that is not concrete... but red brick. If you ask the homeowner's, they cannot explain why this sidewalk is different.

History: This was one of many locations where soldiers fought and died during the civil war. During the construction of this community in 1996, several bodies were discovered to be lined up in a row in shallow graves here. Once it was determined the remains were of the civil war dead, the bodies were not disturbed and left in place. A concrete sidewalk could not be installed because digging down to the frost line would disturb the remains. Therefore, it was necessary to simply lay red bricks.

Mission:  This one is rather easy in that you park, hit ground zero a few feet away, do your best to spot the cache, retrieve it, use your extraction tool to access the log, and finally sign it! That's it!! Please be sure to put the cache back in the same spot.

Area: This is a wood line between to residential communities with visitor parking spots available. You will be in a high visibility area, so stealth is a recommended. Please do not visit at night as you would not fully enjoy seeing the brick sidewalk in the dark.
