昭和美術館は、設立者である後藤幸三（ごとうこうぞう）さんが長年に亘り収集した書・茶道具を保存・研究・公開に供する目的で、昭和53年5月に名古屋の南東、八事にほど近い地に開館致しました。館蔵品は重要文化財4点を含む約800点、うち80％が茶道に関するものとなっています。2200坪の敷地内には池を中心に3つの茶室「南山寿荘」（愛知県指定文化財）内茶室「捻駕籠の席」・「有合庵」・「鶴の舎」（非公開）が点在しているそうです。住宅街にぽつんと佇む美術館へ是非足を運ばれては如何でしょうか？
