While walking through this cemetery looking for a 'resting place' for this new geocache, I spotted a headstone that intrigued me as a Percussionist! The fact that this gentleman has a drum rim hoop on his headstone was pretty cool, but when I looked closer I found out that he CREATED this S-hoop! He created and patented this in 2004 (you'll notice the trademark symbol next to the hoop). This S-hoop creates a smoother playing surface when doing rim shots and side sticking while also helping to decrease the impact to hands and wrists while playing. They called it the "Best of Both World's Hoop" because it inorporates all the characteristics of a die-cast hoop and a triple flange hoop all in one.
Dennis Leeflang (who was a drummer with Nirvana, Guns N' Roses, Metallica and Iron Maiden) was the first artist to sign an endorsement agreement with S-hoop.
