Location: Paul Ruster Park
Time: 10 to 10:30 a.m.
Activity: Meet & Greet followed by an optional semi-urban hike.
I love hiking with fellow cachers! The adventure, the conversation, the... rattlesnakes...
Unfortunately, living in Indy limits our access to long-distance hikes unless we are able to travel an hour or so down to Brown County or Hoosier National Forest. BUT the greater Indy area is filled with dozens of small- and medium-sized parks that boast miles of trails stretching all across the city and its environs, many of which are dotted with geocaches! I propose we get outside and enjoy them (especially now while the bugs and the weeds are in retreat)! Will you join me?
This event is a short (half hour) meet and greet in the parking area at Paul Ruster Park, located off Prospect Street east of the city. I know hiking isn't for everyone, so the meet and greet part is scheduled only for half an hour. Afterward (at 10:30), I'll be heading into the woods to explore a hidden gem within the Indy park system. The plan is to hike the trails through the woods to the north of the parking area. We can swing by the caches to the west and south afterward for a little extra fun if anyone is interested. I anticipate it'll take about an hour to complete the two loops and probably another hour if we want to get the other caches.
To earn the event smiley, all you have to do is show up to the parking lot and sign the log. This part is fully ADA accessible. The actual hiking part (which is not ADA accessible) is optional.
