Park north of the construction signs/activity in Oak Grove Park and walk down the paved path on the west side on this park to get to GZ. +++++++++++++++++++ The posted coordinates will take you to Wood Hollow Metro Park, the newest park in Hudson, but not a City of Hudson park. (The cache is not there.) It is one of the Summit County Metro parks, a nice place for a hike but not for caching. Solve the puzzle for the actual cache location in one of the Hudson Parks – lots of parking nearby. Final location and puzzle updated 10/10/23. Daylight caching only.
How much do you know about the history of the Hudson parks? Identify the park for each of the following questions. You will probably need to research some history to get the final coordinates for this cache, a medium size Lock n Lock container. You must sign the log to claim the find.
A. Hudson’s park board was initially created in order to accept the land for this park, Hudson’s first, which interestingly, is not located within the boundaries of Hudson.
B. A pedestrian bridge overlooking an active rail line is located in this park which was established in 1968.
C. This park is the newest addition to Hudson City Parks.
D. We wonder if fireworks were set off when this park was added to Hudson Parks?
E. It is reported that “hobos” from trains that ran along tracks on the east side of this park used a natural basin here for a washroom.
F. It is reported that the children of abolitionist John Brown roamed the woods that are now part of this Hudson Park.
G. The Hudson Jaycees Haunted House is located in this Hudson Park.
H. This park has 6 soccer fields, 4 baseball fields and the recent addition of tennis and pickle ball courts.
I. A splashpad is one of the more recent additions to the amenities at this Hudson Park.
J. The 50 acre lake here was developed in 1949 by prior land owners.
