Geocache Description:


1. This CARW2023 cache will be published about 6pm on Thursday, March 2, 2023.
2. This cache has been placed for the CARW event with the intention that it not be located prior to 9:00 a.m. Saturday March 4, 2023. The caches for the CARW event are released early so that the geocaching community has an opportunity to plan their routes and strategies prior to the event start.
3. Should you hunt and find this cache before the event start, it will not count for the event, and FTF points are only valid as of 9AM March 4th.





The Stocks Fast Facts
 The Stocks were usually used to humiliate a victim and not kill them
 Sometimes the victim was left to die in the stocks intentionally
 Medieval people could be killed by accident in the stocks by being exposed to cold weather or heat
 The stocks torture device was made out of wood and was simple in its design
 Sometimes the person was chained to the stock
 People would curse, spit and throw things at people when they were in the stocks
 The stocks could be placed anywhere such as on the grounds of castles or in medieval towns and villages
 The stocks were used for minor crimes and were one of the milder medieval punishments
 The stocks were used for unruly artists in the statute of labours in 1350
 Today similar devices to the stocks are used at schools, festivals, and fairs for a bit of fun
