地獄谷から流れる温泉の川沿いから噴き出す、間欠泉を活用した公園。
約3時間の間隔で迫力ある音・湯気とともに、勢いよく噴き出す間欠泉を体感することができる。
また、この公園には登別の湯を護る鬼神「湯鬼神」が残した9本の金棒がある。
黒（商売繁盛）、茶（学業成就）、青（無病息災）、緑（金運上昇）、紫（立身出世）、黄（良縁成就）、赤（子孫繁栄）、白（家庭円満）、金（大願成就）があり、そのうちの金は地中に埋まっていて姿はみえないそうだ。
各色のご利益に対応した金棒に、願いを書いた絵馬をかけることで、その願いが成就するとされている。
